The southern most peninsula of Iceland is right below Reykjavik and is currently volcanically the most active area of Iceland. I started at the lake Kleifarvatn at the Seltún geothermal area. I climbed over the mountains to Djúpavatn lake via Arnavatn lake. I explored Sogin and Grænadyngja and Trolladyngja, young volanic fissures with geothermal sites and beautiful vibrant colors. I then descended down towards the old lava fields near the Kellir crater towards the 2023 Litli-Hrutur Volcano eruption site. I camped at a safe distance that night as I watched the volcano shoot out lava. I visited the lava flow up close and neighboring volcanic peak of Litli-Hrutur. The next day I followed the beautiful scenic route south through the Geldingadalir Valley around the Fagradalsfjall Volcano that erupted in 2022 and 2021. I got back to Kleifarvatn lake via the old Ogmundarhraun lava fields dating back to 1151AD. I hiked to the other side of the lake where I spent the night on the beach. The next day I hiked over the eastern ridge of the lake and got a ride to the small town of Grindavík in the afternoon. I explored the southwestern tip of the peninsula where I visited the old craters of Stampar and camped between the sand dunes of Sandvík beach. Lastly I the colorful Gunnuhver hot spring and famous Blue Lagoon. The Blue Lagoon is fed by hot water from the Svartsengi geothermal power plant that also supplies all of the communities of the Reykjanes Area with hot water for house heating and other purpose. For more information about the sites, check out 🤍 This is an ambient film without dialog. ► TIMESTAMPS 0:00 Aerial Intro 1:31 Day 1 - Seltún, Grænadyngja and Trolladyngja 3:45 The volcano 7:29 Walking to the lava flow 9:54 Day 2 - Fagradalsfjall volcano, Grindavík 12:55 Kleifarvatn lake 14:17 Day 3 17:06 Sandvík beach 18:54 Day 4 - Gunnuhver Hot Springs 20:21 The Blue Lagoon 20:50 Outro with photos #hiking #solocamping #iceland #reykjanes #volcano #LitliHrútur

► LAST CHANCE for Group Hike to PATAGONIA 🤍 ► GUIDE 🤍 ► This trip is made possible by Enlightened Equipment (🤍 ), SOTO (sotooutdoors.com) and Bonfus (bonfus.com). ► 🤍 ► GEAR (affiliate links) Quilt: 🤍 (Enlightened Equipment Revelation) Wind jacket: 🤍 (Enlightened Equipment Copperfield) Backpack: 🤍 Tent: 🤍 Stove: 🤍 Pots: 🤍 Camera: 🤍 ALL GEAR: 🤍 ► ABOUT THIS HIKE In June 2023 I hiked on the Lofoten Islands of Norway for 10 days. The Lofoten Islands, located in northern Norway about 130 kilometers (80 miles) above the Arctic Circle, form an archipelago in the Norwegian Sea. These islands stretch east-west direction in the Norwegian Sea across a total length of approximately 122 kilometers (76 miles). These islands are characterized by their rugged mountain ranges that rise abruptly from the surrounding waters. About 80% of the islands' surface is covered by mountains. On day 1 and 2 I hiked the Matmora ridge, day 3 to the frozen lake of Botnvatnet. On day 4 I made it to Vestvågøya island and hiked towards Leknes via Dalstuva where I camped on top of the mountain. On day 5 I watched the midnight sun above the clouds at 3am, and the next morning I hiked down to Konsfjordpollen to spend a night inside. On day 6 I started hiking on Moskenesøya and hiked to Ryten peak, Kvalvika beach and Horseidvika beach. On day 7 I hiked to Kjerkfjorden and took the ferry to Vindstad. I finished with climbing Hermannsdalstinden. On day 8 I got to Å, and spent the night next to Ågvatnet. On day 9 I climbed over a tricky pass to Gjerdvika and Turtnbakkvika beach where I spent the night. On day 10 I got back to Å. For the full itinerary, including details about public transport, must-sees, my exact campsites, accomodation, flights, gpx-files, camping and weather, check out my travel guide: XXX This is an ambient film without dialog. ► TIMESTAMPS 0:00 Aerial Lofoten & day 1 2:56 Day 2 - The frozen ice lake 6:17 Day 3 - Dinner in the midnightsun 10:10 Day 4 - Sky islands at 3am 12:14 Day 5 - Kvalvika beach 15:13 Camping on the beach (Horseidvika) 16:34 Day 6 - Ferry over the fjord 20:13 The tallest peak of the Lofoten - Hermannsdalstinden 22:16 Day 7 - Å 25:03 Day 8 - The dangerous mountain pass 27:50 Day 9 - Back to town 29:10 Outro with photos #hiking #solocamping #norway #lofotenislands #midnightsun #wildcamping

Subscribe If You Dare 🤍disasterstories The Mariposa family went on a hike in Northern California that ended tragically when they mysteriously disappeared during their trip. Ellen Chung and Jonathan Gerrish were a happy and married couple. They loved hiking with their 8-year-old dog Oski, an aussie / akita mix. Almost every weekend they went out for a walk. In August 2020, they became parents to a beautiful daughter Aurelia Miju. Jonathan Gerrish worked as a software engineer in Silicon. For the most part, he worked from home because of the pandemic. This was a reason for the family to move. They preferred to raise their daughter outside the city. So they decided to move from San Francisco to Mariposa, California. My dog and I hiked Tour des Muveran for 3 days in Switzerland. Tour des Muveran is a truly remarkable trek in the Swiss Valais region. The Muveran range itself is known for its distinctive twin peaks, Dents du Midi and Dents de Morcles, which add to the majestic beauty of the surroundings. The trek usually takes about 4 to 5 days to complete, depending on your pace and the route you choose. GEAR 🤍 SUPPORT Paypal: 🤍 FUTURE GROUP HIKE 🤍 #backpacking #kraigadams #hiking

Award Winning Hiking Documentary - The Range of Light - 400+ Miles in 35 Days The Range of Light is an intimate look into the lives of three hikers as they tackle the high routes in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, covering over 400 miles in around 35 days. The film looks at the addictive nature of long-distance hiking, the creation of high routes, and the threats these wild places face. The Range of Light was shot by Paul Ingram in 2019 and edited through covid times. With the support of the film's sponsors mentioned below, funding was raised to gather together a post-production team, some US based, some in the UK, and some in Pauls's adopted home country in Finland. Upon completion, the film ran in the adventure film festival circuit, being viewed at 6 different festivals around the globe and winning the award of best cinematography at the Lyons International Film Festival. In the spring of 2023, The Range of Light had its Finnish premiere, where industry professionals, friends, and family could watch the film together before its online release on YouTube. With the success of his first film Paul received funding and production support from Kendal Film Festival in the UK and RAB to produce a second film. Seasons Lost is currently in production in 2023 and will enter the film festival circuit at the end of the year. This was one of the best experiences of my life! Thru Hiking Entire Appalachian Trail in 120 Days (Full documentary) In 2020, I attempted to thru-hike the entire Appalachian Trail. Fast forward to 2021, its Appalachian Trail redemption! That’s right! I’m stronger than ever and ready to conquer my dream of completing the Appalachian trail. In this video, I vlogged my FULL 120 day journey on the Appalachian trail. Intrigued? Check out everything I did everyday on the trail! You will want to watch until the end.
