While some riders are happy with the Xena disc lock alarms, many of us have persistent problems with false alarms despite tips on the Xena site for preventing false alarms. We reviewed the Xena disc lock alarm from a long-term perspective, having used three of them now and can only report on constant false alarms and poor after sales support and service from Xena. Unfortunately it's a big thumbs down from us for the Xena disc lock alarm, particularly for the XN15 and XZZ6L. We haven't had experience yet with the Xena XN15, XN14 or XN10 but check other Xena disc lock alarm reviews. The big problem I have faced with the Xena dlsc lock alarm is false alarms. The first one would go off at random intervals which was really getting to the neighbors when it went off at random times like 3am! I took it back under warranty and after a few weeks had the same issue with the second Xena. I went back to the shop again and exchanged it again. This time the Xena disc lock alarm lasted till just out of warranty period before the constant false alarms started. I checked the forums and it seems a lot of Xena disc lock alarms do this. I went through all the proposed solutions (see below), with no luck, although it does work for some according to feedback on the forums and other Xena disc lock alarm reviews - give it a try first before chasing a replacement Xena! Like many, I've now just taken the battery out of the disc lock and use it as a basic disc lock. I've bought disc alarms from Aldi for a third of the price, and they have been extremely reliable for the past year - just wish I'd bought those in the first place but I figured spending more would result in a higher quality alarm. If anyone has false alarm issues with the Xena disc lock alarm, here is the checklist in this Xena disc lock alarm review that occasionally works for some, although like me many just remove the internals and forget about it: - clean the reflector plate and plastic window - replace the battery - try different positions on the brake disc. Looking around the forums and other Xena disc lock alarm reviews, it would appear the Xena disc lock alarm isn't necessarily a strong lock either. Several guys have broken theirs when they rolled their bikes with the disc lock on and they broke when they hit the calipers. And others said they had their bikes stolen after thieves must have done something like this, or just used a crowbar to break the lock. They Xena locks feel heavy but there isn't much metal at the critical points. To be fair, this may be the case with most mid-range disc locks although I couldn't find other reports in other Xena disc lock alarm reviews. But then it's probably just a case of get what you pay for, the ABUS alarms cost a fair bit more but are very strong it seems. I should note in this Xena disc lock alarm review that many Xena disc lock alarm users report they have no problems, but there does seem to be a significantly high failure rate with the alarm, and at least in our experience very poor after sales support as per this Xena disc lock alarm review. If you visit the Xena website at 🤍 you'll see they have all sorts of other locks, many of which do appear stronger than the disc locks and possibly more importantly don't have the alarm. Hope this Xena disc lock alarm review is useful. I'm sure it works for many, just read the comments.

Product review of the Xena XX15-SS Disc-Lock Alarm that I use on my Harley Davidson Iron 883 Sportster. Product links: ► XENA XX15-SS Stainless Steel Disc Alarm Link: 🤍 ► Disc Lock Dual Loop Safety Cable (Reminder Cable) Link: 🤍 The reason I purchased this disc-lock alarm is because I wanted to be able to lock the bike up somehow whenever having to park it when out and about, to keep it from just rolling away. The disc-lock was a great solution for this, and the fact that it has an alarm built into it as well was an added perk. This keeps some bike thief from being able to put your bike in neutral and rolling it away, since the disc-lock will end up rotating around and hitting the fork or brakes / pads and cause it to stop. It also has a 120dB alarm built in, which is very loud in person (ear piercing) and gets peoples attention. I heard bike thieves hate getting attention. It only takes a few extra seconds to put the disc-lock alarm on whenever parking the bike somewhere, and it's nice for the peace of mind. It's worth taking a few extra steps to try to deter a bike thief from taking your bike. Leave the bike in gear, lock your handlebars, throw on the disc-lock alarm, and whatever other deterrents you're able to throw in there help a little bit in keeping the bike thieves at bay. As of recording this review, I've owned the Xena disc-lock alarm for about 7 months now, and am very happy with it. I've had the alarm 'phantom' go off on me (whenever nothing touched or moved it / nobody around) a few times, maybe like 5 or 6 times to date that I've actually heard. Overall, would recommend it. There are some bad reviews on Amazon from people having bad experiences with these, but my experience has been good. The lock seems and feels quality, the fact I've used it for 7 months, outside, with no problems thus far, speaks to that I think. Thanks for watching! Merch! ► T'shirts!
